In-State Scholarship Opportunities

The following are the scholarship offers available to first-time in-state freshmen for 2019-2020. Students must meet the criteria below by January 31, 2019.


Jefferson Caffery Scholarship

Selection Criteria

  • ACT Composite: 30+ (SAT 1390+)
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • National Merit Finalist or Semifinalist

Award ($65,000*)

  • $1,700/semester for 8 semesters
  • Room and Board for 8 semesters
  • Campus Job for 8 semesters
  • Laptop Computer for 8 semesters    
  • Participation in Study Abroad

Outstanding Student Scholarship

Selection Criteria

  • ACT Composite: 32+ (SAT 1450+)
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA

Award ($57,000*)

  • $1,200/semester for 8 semesters
  • Room and Board for 8 semesters
  • Campus Job for 8 semesters
  • Laptop computer for 8 semesters

Academic Scholarship

Selection Criteria

  • ACT Composite: 28+ (SAT 1310+)
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA

Award ($18,700*)

  • $1,200/semester for 8 semesters
  • Partial housing for 4 semesters

Centennial Scholarship

Selection Criteria

  • ACT Composite: 27 (SAT 1280-1300)
  • 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA

Award ($7,600 - $8,400)

  • 3.5 - 4.0 cumulative GPA          $1,050/semester for 8 semesters
  • 3.0 - 3.49 cumulative GPA        $   950/semester for 8 semesters

Academic Excellence Scholarship

Selection Criteria

  • ACT Composite: 25-26 (SAT 1200-1270)
  • 3.0 Cumulative GPA

Award ($6,400 - $7,200)

  • 3.5 - 4.0 cumulative GPA          $ 900/semester for 8 semesters
  • 3.0 - 3.49 cumulative GPA        $ 800/semester for 8 semesters

Distinguished Freshman Scholarship

Selection Criteria

  • ACT Composite: 24 (SAT 1160-1190)
  • 3.0 Cumulative GPA

Award ($1,400 - $1,600)

  • 3.5 - 4.0 cumulative GPA          $ 800/semester for 2 semesters
  • 3.0 - 3.49 cumulative GPA        $ 700/semester for 2 semesters

Dr. Ray P. Authement Valedictorian Scholarship

Selection Criteria

High school valedictorians should contact the UL Lafayette Scholarship Office upon graduation.

Award ($1,000)

  • $500/semester for 2 semesters
